Transitional Model 1938 Hitlerjugend Fahrtenmesser by Robert Klaas of Solingen. The blade has been slightly sharpened but looks good. The acid etched “Blut und Ehre!” motto, stamped kissing cranes “Robt Klaas Solingen” and “RZM M7/37” The steel based black enamel painted scabbard looks excellent. It retains 85% paint coverage and remains dent free. The folded over blackened leather strap retains all of its and the snap continues to work well! The leather is in wonderful condition! The hilt is constructed out of a steel base that has been nickel-silver plated. The plating remains in excellent condition, being 95%+ intact. The two black checkered bakelite grip plates are in perfect condition. To the center obverse of the grip has a HJ large diamond with 100% enamel remaining. A great mottoed example.
